PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma — platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. It contains concentrated growth factors that stimulate healing processes in tissue. At EZZ Bonn, we process the plasma with state-of-the-art centrifuge technology.

ACP (Autologous Conditioned Plasma) is a special form of PRP therapy with an optimized processing method. ACP contains particularly high levels of anti-inflammatory and regenerative factors with minimal contamination by red blood cells.

PRP/ACP is particularly effective for osteoarthritis of large and small joints (knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, thumb saddle joint, ankle, big toe joint, midfoot joint, facet joint), tendinitis, partial tendon tears, muscle injuries, ligament injuries and nerve irritations.

We take a small amount of blood (approx. 15–30 ml), process it in the centrifuge and inject the obtained plasma under ultrasound guidance — precisely, sterile and targeted — into the affected area. The entire treatment takes about 30–45 minutes.

We generally recommend 3–4 sessions at intervals of 1–2 weeks. For osteoarthritis, a follow-up after 6–12 months may be advisable. We discuss the exact plan individually at our practice in Bonn.

A PRP/ACP session at our private practice costs between 150 and 250 Euro depending on the processing method. Private health insurance frequently covers the costs. We advise self-payers transparently in advance.
